My quick story

I have always been a baker. From a very young age, I baked pies, cakes, and cookies.

My career though was in finance until I started my (very small batch) granola company in 2012 (in the basement of my home). That small.

I grew the granola co. to $1 million+ in annual revenue.

I sold the business in 2022 for $7 figures.

Along the way, I discovered that keeping track of wholesale customers was one of my biggest challenges, which is why I'm now building Kamille to help makers grow their wholesale revenues.

My (longer) Small Batch Empire Story

THE “GRANOLA YEARS”

In 2012, David and I moved to a small county in Virginia with our two boys, Hudson and Henry, to “live the good life.” Hudson was 5 years old, and Henry had just turned two. I had always dreamed of having a bakery, and when we found an old B&B with a commercial kitchen in the basement, we went for it and made it our home and business.

The Hudson Henry Baking Co. was founded in August 2012, and we started baking our granola. We moved the business to a “proper commercial space” in 2016, and I regained a basement. We won 6 sofi awards over the years and we “made the planogram” at Whole Foods.

In 2020, we reached $1 million in annual revenue for the first time. In 2022, I successfully sold the company for seven figures.

Through building and growing Hudson Henry, I experienced firsthand the challenges of managing wholesale accounts. Keeping track of dozens (and then hundreds) of stores, knowing when to prompt for reorders, and identifying growth opportunities became increasingly complex as we scaled. This experience directly inspired Kamille - software designed to solve these exact problems for makers

BEFORE GRANOLA

Before granola, I worked as a Product Manager in New York and London. It was a great introduction to the world of business. I worked with operations, marketing, legal, data, and the sales team on any given day. I loved it, and I learned so much. I truly appreciate the great start that it gave me in running my own business.

Also, before granola, I met and married David, my Australian husband. Hudson was born in Australia, and Henry was born in Texas. David and I worked together “on granola” since day one, and amazingly, we are still married and talking to each other. : )
